The 2019 AUSA Annual Meeting, designed to deliver the Army’s message by highlighting the capabilities of Army organizations and presenting a wide range of industry products and services. In addition to the expansive show floor filled with 700+ exhibitors, where we have the chance to meet up with several of our partners, the program is filled with interesting topics and we also get the a hands-on opportunity to specify and see the latest technology in action.
It was a pleasure to meet fellow partners and representatives from the United States armed forces at the AUSA reception at the Norwegian Embassy in Washington on Sunday the 13 of October. The Norwegian Ambassador Kåre R. Aas pointed out the importance of the long and strong relationship between the United States and Norway and how this has prosperously supported both our nations.
The Norwegian Ministry of Defence’s national armaments director Morten Tiller explained how the United States is our most important defense partner and how we have supported each other for several decades.
Brigadier General Morten Eggen continued by addressing how our cooperation with the United States has ensured that our defense capabilities have remained strong and how current investments will further strengthen the defense capabilities of the Norwegian armed forces.
The Director of FSI Torbjørn Svensgård summarized the event by highlighting that the United States armed forces are not only contributing to the material to Norway. It is also the largest market for Norwegian defense material and the current growth ensures our ability to further invest in our common defense capabilities.
We are looking forward to learnings and networking at the AUSA2019 the entire week.
