Flexible PCB assembly prototype for medical laboratory use
At Elmatica, we are lucky to be involved in many interesting and exciting projects within a wide range of industries every year. This one, for the Medical Industry is a key example on an excellent cooperation for Flexible PCB assembly prototype for medical laboratory use.
We are so humble to be allowed to share this article written by General Manager of Vector Blue Hub Wlodzimierz Babs, choosing us as their PCB supplier for a medical project they are involved in.

VECTOR BLUE HUB had the opportunity to support one of our customers in completing the flexible Printed Circuit Board Assembly prototype for medical laboratory use, and I am thrilled to share some highlights with you.
What we did
Our customer specialises in quality control instrumentation for specialised laboratories. Its product guides the user through the control and calibration of critical equipment in a specific laboratory environment. As a result, the product can control and calibrate incubators, IVF workstations, warming systems etc., with no need for other third party instruments.
The product itself is compact, and so the technology inside should be as well. That’s why flexible PCB was so essential due to the advantages it brings, which include:
- Smaller dimensions, especially thickness.
- Lower weight compared to traditional PCBs.
- Ease of adapting the board to the shape of its housing, whereby allowing agile assembly.
At the prototyping stage, we verified the effects of work done by product design engineers. We validated the device against the simplicity of installation in the production process and optimisation of components and materials involved. We checked everything very carefully under the microscope using the latest technologies.
At the end of the process, we could lean on our Quality Assurance team that put all their effort into conducting tests, delivering proper documents and designing the process so that the cost-quality balance falls into the optimal point.
