External factors to consider!
Chinese New Year – time to start planning!
The Chinese New Year (CNY) is the most important holiday in China. In 2020, this festive celebration falls on January the 24th until January the 30th.
Since the Chinese New Year is a nationwide celebration, it will affect production.
Please contact your local Sales Manager at Elmatica, and start planning ahead already.
We will do our very best to support you and reduce the impact of this external factor. We are taking precautions together with our trusted manufacturers in China.
However, there are some proactive factors we encourage all our customers to look into:
- The lead time might increase with +2 weeks, so prioritizing your PCB orders might be a good idea.
- Talk to your Elmatica contact, and plan your production before/after CNY.
- For orders applicable for QTA, Elmatica will help source out suitable manufacturers.
Year of the rat
2020, according to the Chinese Zodiac, is the year of the Rat. In Chinese culture, rats were seen as a sign of wealth and surplus. People born in the Year of the Rat are instinctive, acute and alert in nature which makes them to be brilliant businessmen.
About Chinese New Year
The Chinese New Year is defined to be the first day of the first month in the traditional Chinese calendar. Unlike the Christian New Year, which is based on a solar calendar, the Chinese New Year is based on a traditional Chinese lunisolar calendar whose date indicates both the moon phase and the time of the solar year.
Chinese New Year Calendar:
17th – 23rd January – Limited resources and shipment
23rd of Jan: Last day shipping before festive season starts
24th -30th of Jan: Chinese New Year
31st of Jan: 1st day after the holiday
